Fam. Dewicke - Stuivekenskerke

"Our house was going to be bricked first. However, our soil was not that good and we would have to build on pile foundations, a hefty cost that we could not afford. When our contractor suggested steel framing, it turned out that we could simply save this cost of €28,000! Once we started, it all went really fast. I remained critical, especially regarding acoustics. After all, we live on a very busy farm. But we live here now for more than 5 years and enjoy the silence! Even our dog can no longer hear when a car comes driving into the yard... And after all these years, there isn't a single crack to be found anywhere! We can recommend it to everyone!"

Wim Dewicke, owner

This project was built on land that was less than suitable. In order to build traditionally, the client had to provide heavy pile foundations. This could be avoided by opting for the light Quicksteel structure. For the facade finishing, however, a brick was chosen.

You can also come and enjoy the view at this farm. The owner runs a B&B right next to the house: The Reigersvliethoeve.
